POM - Preparation for Overseas Movement template and Serial Number set. For marking vehicles and gear  as used in preparation of the D-Day invasion and others.  The USN sytem (Unit Serial Number) "began in August 1943 and ended April 9, 1945" (ref, Chad Phillips and Ben Major). Each Unit  participating in the invasion  was assigned a serial number. This is a 5 piece set including 1 serial number  stencil,  2 stripe stencils and 2 background border stencils as shown. This combination allows for adding a contrasting border or not as necessry. Stripes measure 1 x 4 inches. Serial numbers 1 inch tall
